After two years (of planning, postponing, planning again, waiting again, and planning again), we finally got to have the retirement party for our beloved partner, Bob Sash. In the two years since his retirement, Bob has stayed incredibly busy with his farm and alpacas. But we're glad we were able to get him into the city to celebrate. He even brought two of the cria from the farm and had them in a pen in the Chicago Yacht Club parking lot.
It was wonderful to see so many current and former Deloitte partners and spouses in attendance, as well as several of Bob's former clients. He gave a wonderful speech that was a walk down 35+ years of memory lane. We all loved remembering those stories and then sharing some of our fond memories. My only disappointment was that I was recovering from pneumonia so we didn't get to fully enjoy ourselves with our night out and get to stay in the city. Plus, one of the couples we were looking forward to seeing from Houston had to cancel due to illness, as well. So our after party was a bust. But the actual party was lovely.
I drank tumeric almond milk and honey lattes to try to soothe my cough.
