When I got home last night, I was thrilled to see my bike and Will's trailer were in the garage! Spring is here once the snow blower and bike trailer swap for spots in the shed and garage! And resourceful Will combined all of his favorites for a few minutes of springtime fun, as well.

Conversations with a Kid
I had the following conversation with Will before bed the other night:
Me: Uncle Ryan's birthday is coming up. What should we get him for a present?
W: A robot.
Me: A robot?
W: Yes, that would be COOL.
Me: What does a robot do?
W: I get Uncle Ryan TWO presents.
Me: What two presents would you like to get Uncle Ryan?
W: A robot and a Thomas.
Me: You have a lot of Thomases. Can you share one you already have?
W: No. Uncle Ryan has his own. He can get a Percy and play trains at my house. Then I'll have a Percy and Uncle Ryan has a Percy.
The conversation just trickled off there as he went on to other things, but I asked Jason about the robot part later (I already know of his Thomas love). Apparently robots are the new big thing. And when he puts his mesh laundry hamper on his head he says he's a robot. Hmmm, I guess that means we could get Ryan a new mesh hamper for his birthday. . . . :-)

Sweet Dreams
Will stopped sleeping in his bed several weeks ago and was sleeping on the floor in front of the bed. This past week he started sleeping in the corner where we keep his stuffed animals. And one night we found him sleeping in his chair with all of his books. I do have to admit that the stuffed animals (including 3 large bears and a large frog - all of which are at least as big as him) are very comfy! I think he's got a pretty good idea going!
Now we have to decide whether we're going to convert his toddler bed into a full size bed, since I think one of the reasons he doesn't like sleeping in the toddler bed is that it's too crowded. I have asked him several time why he wants to sleep on the floor. He usually just says that he likes to hide, and if I press him too much on it he changes the subject.

It's Spring!
I'm not sure when all this warm weather showed up, but I've got lots of flowers in my yard, and the sun has been shining brightly! As Will likes to say, "Hooray!' Luckily, I didn't have to work late Friday or today, so I got to spend both evenings with my guys. Last night we played in the backyard and grilled hotdogs. Tonight we met up at the park and played before a quick dinner and bedtime. This is what I found when I got there! My two guys in their K-State purple. (We wish the game had turned out better!)

In the picture above, Will is chasing birds! He has been such a Momma's boy recently, which of course, I love! He likes to give me big kisses and bigger hugs. He's also been very good about my work schedule. Plus this has given him lots of time to play with his daddy and practice golf. He wears his golf glove, gets his grip and stance just right, and then gives it a big hit. :-)

Second Professional Haircut
One evening I took Will for his second professional haircut. I had saved a coupon (for months!) for the SportClips down the street. Of course the day I went to use it was March 1 and it had expired the day prior. Maybe since I paid full price I was more disappointed in the result. I have trimmed Will's hair myself several times since his first professional haircut in October on our roadtrip. But, the cut was too blunt around the ears. The stylist on this day got the same result, but I asked her to try to fix it. It was ok but not great. I'll try again at home the next time.
He was not excited but he was quiet and asked me to hold his hand. Afterwards we went to the ice cream shop next door for "dinner."

Donuts and Driving
Will was so excited that he and Mommy had a donut date this morning, that he offered to do the driving! He made fast friends will an older woman at Dunkin Donuts today. She thought he was so cute and smart! Actually, the cashier loved him, too, since she gave him 8 Munchkins instead of the 5 that I promised him (and let him eat).

A Day at the Office
I was on the East Coast for work all week and then in the office all day Saturday, so Sunday was Will and Mommy day (and Daddy's day off!). Since I had a few things that I needed to get cleaned up at the office, Will said he would come with me! We packed up his Thomas bag with toys, Mommy's iPad and lunch and snacks.
After lunch and a few hours at the office, we packed up and headed to the zoo! Will got to see all of his favorites: lions, puppies (the African wild dogs), polar bears and giraffes. My legs are so tired this morning after the three laps that I made pushing the stroller trying to find the door to the indoor giraffe exhibit! It was worth it though; we saw four giraffe up close.

Who Needs a Bed?
Will currently prefers to sleep on the floor. Usually it's not as elaborate as this set up we made for him the other night. It used to be that he would lay in his bed and he would ask me to stay with him for awhile. I would lay on the pillow pet and cover up with the quilt. Now he tells me that I can sleep in the bed since he is going to sleep on the floor.
Yes It's Cold; Yes We Play Outside!
The sun came out this weekend enough to play outside. It was only about 35 degrees according to the car when we got to the park at 10 a.m., but it was fine if we stayed in the sun. The afternoon was beautiful and we played golf in the backyard, then rode the tricycle in the front yard/down the street/around to the school. To play golf, I had to spend considerable time scooping poop. It was almost like the effort involved to get a kid into a snow suit and then only playing outside for 5 minutes! Although, we did brush Rachel while we were out back. Will and I were both covered in fur!
But, if we don't take advantage of sunny days, we would never get outside. That's why we have coats and hats and gloves!
