Today is Rachel's 14th birthday! She turned newlyweds in a little family on Father's Day weekend 2001. I was very unsure about getting such a big dog, but John had no doubt. He chose the giant, fluffy, 10 pound dog hiding underneath the shelter. Her 5 little brothers and sisters had been chasing us around the yard nipping at our heels the whole time we were there. Happy we got the quiet, snuggly one!
I got a new laptop last week, so it gave me a chance to come across some old pictures. Below are a few of my favorites of Rachel "growing up." The last one is a current photo. She's getting gray around the nose and her back legs don't work very well. But she's still spunky and sweet.
