Easter at Disney - Saratoga Springs & Hollywood Studios

We took our Spring Break/Easter Break to Disney World again this year and had perfect weather and an amazing time!   We stayed two nights at Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort, which was walking distance to Disney Springs.   Then we transferred to Disney's Bay Lake Tower at the Contemporary Resort for the last two nights.   I don't love split stays - and keep trying to avoid them - but when I can't commit to our precise travel plans far enough in advance I usually end up having to add days at a second resort.  But I'll take the inconvenience of moving resorts (really just not being able to fully unpack; Disney moves your bags!) for the bonus of extra vacation days!

We arrived at the sprawling Saratoga Springs after dark so didn't get a good lay of the land.  But we could see that we were right across from Disney Springs!   Our view was the Lego store.  Not a bad deal at all!   We headed over for dinner at Guy Fieri's chicken place (spoiler alert:  it was only fine, wouldn't do a repeat).  And William had souvenir money from Grandma Joni burning a hole in his pocket so he got his stuffed Goofy.   I had some souvenir money burning a hole in my pocket and bought Mickey ear Christmas tree ornaments (i.e. my usual!).  

On the second day we spent a little bit of the afternoon at the pool before going to Disney Springs for Blaze pizza (yum!) and finish walking through all the stores.  It was more of a hike to get around the resort (including to the pool) that it was to get to Disney Springs.  We sort of knew but had it confirmed that Saratoga Springs is a driving resort, not a walkable resort.   So we likely won't stay there again if there are some of our other favorites available.   It was convenient to be by Disney Springs, though, since we rarely make time for it on our trips.

Our first park day we went to Hollywood Studios and William, who is the only kid I know that loves green army men, bought himself another bucket!  We also enjoyed seeing the progress of the Star Wars Galaxy's Edge building.  In the evening we returned for the standby line for Slinky Dog, which is a fun new ride.
