Kauai: Helicopter Tour
Monday - our first full day in Kauai - started with a Blue Hawaiian helicopter tour. It was worth every penny! The hour was full of breathtaking sights for which the camera (through the windshield) cannot do justice.
I took this picture, because it's a Bendix/King product that Jason used to sell at Honeywell. But it's a neat view of the seat configuration. We were in front with the pilot and two honeymooning couples were in the back.
The center of the island is lush and mountainous
Waimea Canyon - this is one where it actually looked more magnificent at eye level. I've got a separate post devoted to our hike there.
The Na Pali Coast (and Jason's feet). What a perspective! You can also see the boat below, which is what we did the next day.

After the tour, we took the top off the Jeep and cruised around the island and got our first sunburns. The Jeep ended up being an excellent upgrade, since Jason found us ample opportunities to take advantage of its off-roading capabilities later in the week.
And, of course, no trip to the Hawaiian islands is complete without a shave ice! Mine is vanilla ice cream with li hing mui (plum), lychee, and lilikoi (passion fruit). Yum
